Foxhurst is the kind of neighborhood that doesn’t advertise. A short loop of custom homes on Foxhurst Lane and Shagbark Lane in Fox Township, west of the Fox River between Millbrook and Newark, it borders a Kendall County forest preserve with protected wetlands and a canoe launch — so the neighbors on one side are, permanently, trees and water. Homes carry Newark 60541 addresses and sit on wooded lots of roughly one to one-and-a-half acres.
The homes went up in the late 1980s through the mid 1990s as individual custom builds — two-stories and sprawling ranches from about 2,400 to 3,700 square feet, three to five bedrooms, on well and septic, with no homeowners association then or now. It’s a small community, and turnover is genuinely rare: only a handful of resales are documented in recent years, which tells you what owners think of the place.
When homes do trade, they trade well. A Foxhurst Lane home closed at $480,000 in August 2025, and a Shagbark Lane home reached $561,000 in April 2026 — a median around $520K for the recent pair.
