History

Montgomery’s roots trace back to the 1830s when Daniel S. Gray settled along the Fox River, naming the community after Montgomery County, New York. The village was officially incorporated on February 17, 1858. Today, the Little White School Museum and the Dickson-Murst Farm preserve Montgomery’s pioneer heritage, while Gray’s Mill remains a beloved local landmark.
