Woodridge was incorporated in 1959, making it one of the newer communities in DuPage County. Originally farmland, the village was developed in the post-war suburban boom and has grown into a diverse, family-oriented community. The name ‘Woodridge’ reflects the wooded ridges that characterize the village’s natural topography along the East Branch of the DuPage River.

Woodridge is located in southern DuPage County, approximately 25 miles southwest of Chicago. The village has excellent highway access via I-355, I-55, and Route 53. While Woodridge does not have its own Metra station, nearby stations in Downers Grove and Lisle provide commuter rail options to Chicago. Pace bus service connects throughout the area.
